Fascia Board Purpose The fascia board serves an actual function on almost all houses. The fascia board is what the gutter is secured to and as a result of the connection, it is important to take the right steps when replacing gutters on the exterior of a home. Rotted or warped fascia board may interact negatively on the overall performance of the gutter system, including water sliding behing the gutter and into an exterior wall or window opening.
