We moved into our current home and knew we were going to need to add insulation to the attic. It's a 1963 home and hadn't been touched as far as upgrading insulation or doing just the basics to make the home function until we purchased it just before the pandemic got underway (we're the 3rd to own the home). To give you an idea what we're working with, the home has it's original windows/screens/storms and the original front door. We've replaced two exterior doors and the roof. We asked Eric to come out to do an Energy Audit as part of Pepco's program, knowing that we were planning to put in insulation in the attic, but also wanting to know where we were losing energy--because we were seeing $$$ leaving the house monthly in the heating/cooling bills. Eric walked us through everything step by step from our first contact. We knew what to expect and he delivered. He was respectful of our home, told us what he needed to do (we were working from home during the pandemic during all of this--and none of what he needed to do interrupted our work or his), showed us the results of the tests he ran AND walked us through the results--telling us about the results and what they meant to us and how we live in our home. Eric was respectful of my husband and my time to discuss the test results as well as the photos and videos of his findings. When we had our decision, we circled back and made a plan that best met our needs for our home and our family. We decided not only to install insulation in the attic, but also did basement air sealing and insulation. Eric's team also installed a special exhaust fan in our lower level bathroom, removed a whole-house fan from our attic, and then drywalled over the opening. Eric's team was equally impressive, professional, and delivered the same high-quality service that is rarely found these days. THEY ARE FANTASTIC! Again, we were working from home during the pandemic and didn't feel interrupted in any of this. WHY? Because these gentlemen know how to communicate with their customers. They are fantastic and they deliver results! When I say they deliver results, I mean it. I've been waiting to write this review (our work was completed in November 2021). I wanted to see how the savings were going to show up on my Pepco bills. Boy, baby have they ever! Yes, natural gas prices are going up. Is my usage? No--it has dropped. Have I adjusted my thermostat? Nope. I left my settings exactly the same to see what would happen and where we would see savings. Both my husband and I can enthusiastically recommend Eric and the Hometrust Remodeling team. If you need an Energy Audit, call them. If you need the type of services we had done, call them. What we can say that Eric is one of those people you rarely find these days--someone who truly cares not only about the work he does, but also about how you feel about living in your home after the work is finished. And WE can tell you, you are going to LOVE the way you feel living in your home after Eric and the Hometrust Remodeling team are done working in your home--WE DO!

Eric came to do a home energy audit on my new construction home and his professionalism, attention to detail and his focus on breaking down what he was doing made the whole process smooth and understandable. He found a small gas leak and some heat penetration from my attic that allowed me to contact the builder of my home and have things corrected right away.
